Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund: Here is How to Donate

April 12, 2020

(95.7 The Spot) -- The Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund is a collaborative effort to help neighbors and our community recover from this crisis.

Entercom Houston is proud to join the United Way of Houston and The Greater Houston Community Foundation to raise money for those who need it most.

Gifts to the fund will be used to respond to urgent basic needs and emergency assistance -- like access to food, shelter and health care

The fund serves the four counties of Greater Houston: Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, and Waller counties.

To get aid distributed quickly, the fund is investing in trusted non-profit partners who have proven systems and experience for serving the community in times of disaster

All donations will be used to provide client services.

Donate by Text: “WEHELP” to 41444

If you need help, call 211 Texas/ United Way HELPLINE to be connected with available resources.

The Houston Endowment is among the generous donors leveraging your gift to help more of our neighbors.

In addition to their $1 million lead gift, the Houston Endowment will donate an additional dollar for every $4 contributed to the fund, up to a total match gift of $1 million. That means your $100 gift will become a $125 gift to our community.

The Houston Texans Foundation have been joined by other generous organizations and individuals such as JPMorgan Chase & Co, Wells Fargo Foundation, The Kroger Co. and Mike D’Antoni, Houston Rockets head coach and his wife Laurel, among others.

The Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund website will publish how the funds are distributed.

Recovery fund investments will be overseen by a volunteer task force of community leaders drawn from the boards of directors of both organizations
