Something as simple as dinner can seem like a small thing to us but not for 9-year-old Will. For will, it was his dream to have JJ over for dinner and like JJ does, he made that wish come true.
I know that JJ gets a lot of heat but that happens when the whole world is watching you. They will say he is only doing these great and compassionate things because people are watching or he is doing them because he wants people to like him. I don’t buy that. Because those people, the ones whose hearts aren’t in the right place, you can see it on their faces! You know it is disingenuous. For JJ, I think it is the way he was raised. I think he is completely humbled that a kid from a small town has this platform and I think he is genuinely using that platform to make a difference. I think rather than criticising his motives, you should thank him for being a positive role model and working hard on the field and off the field.
So thank you JJ. Thank you for doing what is right. Doing what is compassionate.
